The Cleaner Production Promotion Unit is a multidisciplinary and transdisciplinary research group in University College Cork, Ireland. The group is jointly based in the university’s School of Engineering and Architecture, and Environmental Research Institute. Operating at the intersection of the social sciences with science and engineering, it conducts engaged research focused on the theme of society, sustainability and energy. Its diverse team comprises researchers with a variety of backgrounds including sociology, human geography, gender, political science, environmental science and engineering.
Role in the project
UCC leads WP3, which is focused on consumer engagement. Here, working closely with partners they will work to understand community dynamics around energy, ascertain good practices in energy governance, and design and establish living labs around the project's demonstration sites. In WP8, they will work to integrate the findings of the engagement activities for the development of compound demand response services. UCC will also contribute to a number of other activities across WPs 1, 2, 7, 9, 10.
